exhale

I think I've forgotten what it's like to feel healthy. I know too many people who have their health without any real effort. While I don't begrudge them this in the slightest, sometimes I do feel a little twinge of envy.

It's such a delicate balance between eating enough that your nourished, but not eating so much that you feel sick, eating something that's nutritious, but not going to upset the disease. Between getting enough exercise, but not wearing yourself out, taking it easy but not being sedentary. Between having a life, but not overdoing it, having a quiet one and becoming withdrawn...

Generally I do a pretty good job I think. So I'm throwing caution to the wind and having pizza, garlic bread and wine for dinner. Tonight I feel weary of this Crohn's saga.

  3. Hello,
I am finding it hard to find any information on how to obtain infliximab as an immigrant to Australia. I am British and planning to live with my Australian partner in Melbourne in a few months. However I do not know if I am eligible to receive infliximab, which I have been having for 5 years now with a fantastic response. I have severe crohns disease and no other medication has worked. Please would you be so kind to provide me of details of whom I can contact regarding this.

  4. You would need to have it prescribed by a Gastroenterologist who is linked into one of the main public hospitals. I would start by contacting the Gastroenterology department at St Vincent's Public Hospital as they have a large IBD clinic and they administer Infliximab. Website: http://www.svhm.org.au/infoabout/departments/gastroenterology01.htm
Phone: (03) 9288 3475 (plus international codes if calling from UK)
Let me know if you don't get any where because I can always ask my Gastroenterologist.
